Samantha Stosur 2011 US Open Champion

*Update* Sam Stosur just beat Serena Williams in straight sets to win The 2011 US Open and her first Major Championship.

Samantha Stosur is an Australian professional tennis player. She is a former world No. 1 on the WTA Tour in doubles with Lisa Raymond from the United States. She started playing tennis, when she was given a racket for Christmas at the age of eight. While her parents worked long hours at the cafe they had started, Stosur played at local courts with older brother Daniel, who later encouraged their parents to take her to tennis lessons.
